This is the home of Prof. Dr. Andrey Zheludev's Neutron Scattering and Magnetism Group in the Laboratory for Solid State Physics at ETH Zürich. AZ's personal and lepidoptera web pages are located elsewhere.

Our mission is fundamental experimental research in solid state physics. Our main tools are inelastic neutron scattering and neutron diffraction. We also employ a variety of other techniques, such as calorimetry, magnetometry, X-ray diffraction, MuSR and optical spectroscopy. We also have facilities where we synthesize and characterize many of our samples. Current research topics include criticality, phase transitions and disorder effects in quantum spin systems, complex helimagnetic structures, ferroelectrics and structural transitions, multiferroic materials and more. Among other things, we are involved in operating the TASP and soon-to-be EIGER 3-axis neutron spectrometers at the SINQ facility at Paul Scherrer Institut.
